Sock Puppet Show

Because Stella likes to scratch her face and her head while she sleeps (usually drawing blood and waking herself up, thereby waking us up), she gets to have socks on her hands while she sleeps. It totally works; see how peaceful she looks?

A Wish Come True

I think Paige used her 26th birthday wish on me. I got sick right before her big day, so I went to the doctor and was given some pills. I have never been able to swallow pills my entire life; usually I just crunch them up in my mouth and then wash it down with water. This is where the wish comes in. The day after Paige's birthday, I swallowed a pill whole for the first time ever, and am happy to report that I have swallowed every pill since then (four). I would like to thank my wife, even though she will not admit it, for using her birthday wish on me.

Itty Bitty Stella

Stella finally has a pair of jeans that fit her. They're actually size 0-3 months, even though she's almost 5 months old. But that's what happens when you only weigh 11 pounds and are in the 10th percentile for weight and 50th for height.

BustedTees.com

I gave this shirt to my brother for his birthday (he's the biggest Seinfeld fan I know):

If I were going to give Kincade a shirt for his birthday, it would be this one:

If I were going to give myself a shirt for my birthday, it would be this one:

Happy Birthday, Paige!

It was 26 years ago yesterday that a young lady was born to Rick and Yvonne Owens in Pocatello, Idaho. Her name was Paige. Paige spent the earlier part of her life hanging out in Idaho, waiting for her father to graduate from college.

That day soon came, and Paige and her family packed up and went to live in the Midwest, the Chicago, Illinois area. There, Paige became interested in art, book reading, ice cream eating, soccer playing, shoe buying, and being a grouch in the mornings.

Paige's life in the Midwest was interrupted by a short nine-month stint in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Then she moved straight back to Illinois. Soon after high school started, Paige and her family moved again; this time to Danville, Indiana.

Unhappy at first, Paige would soon learn to love Indiana and all that came with it.

As high school drew to a close, Paige was accepted to BYU, where she would spend the next four years of her life with five friends.

In her fourth year of college and a degree in English and an editing minor almost done, Paige happened to find a husband-to-be. After a ten-month courtship, Kincade and Paige were married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on July 10, 2004.

With a degree and a husband to support, she found work as an editor for Young Living and put her husband through a year of school. Feeling that he was an uncultured swine, she decided to take him on many trips, including a honeymoon in the Virgin Islands, a free trip to Hawaii, and a tour through Washington D.C.

With all the fun Paige was having, she needed a little nudge to decide to have a baby. Shortly after that decision was made, Paige got pregnant.

After a very long nine months, Paige gave birth to a very healthy and beautiful little girl named Stella Nadine, who weighed 6 lbs .13 oz. and was 19 in. long.

Paige still enjoys part-time employment from Young Living as the global communications specialist, working with the marketing communications and international departments. She also spends much of her time taking care of her family.

Eat Your Heart Out, ABBA

Apparently, my husband is not only a painter of light, but he's also a British band from the seventies.

P.S. Please note that the correct spelling of his name matches that of the band. (Not Kincaid, Kincaide, Kinkade, Kinkaid, or Ken Cade)

Little Braves Fan

Stella also feels let down and was saddened by the news of not seeing her Braves.

Don't Take Me Out to the Ball Game....

Paige's cousin, Emily, is getting married, which means another trip to Phoenix for us. This time, it is during baseball season. One of the possible wedding dates discussed was in early August. I got onto mlb.com and saw that the weekend of the ninth my Atlanta Braves would be in town for a series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. I would get to see my Braves for the first time. But it was not to be. Emily decided to get married on June 28, which means my beloved Braves would not be in town. Then I realized that going to any baseball game during our trip would still be fun. Alas, the Diamondbacks are playing in Florida that same weekend. Thank you, Emily, for not thinking of others on your big day and destroying this man's dream.

Rockin' and Rollin'

Stella isn't a big fan of tummy time, but she finally figured out how to get out of it.

Stella's Bedtime Story

One night, I couldn't fall asleep in my crib; I decided to get in bed with dad.

He moved too much, so I kicked him out.

Mom was noisy, so she had to go too; the bed was all mine.

Stella the Ostrich

Can you tell which one is our baby?

One Ring to Rule Them All

A couple of weeks ago, we were in Provo and decided to swing by the place where we bought our wedding rings to have them cleaned and re-dipped. We discovered that it was out of business, but a new ring store was in its place. The employee said that normally they charge for ring cleaning but (because they were trying to recruit our business) did it for free this time. Afterward, we were admiring our newly polished rings and I was amazed at how shiny mine was. Then Paige realized that my ring is supposed to be brushed metal, not shiny, reflective metal. The ring store employee had accidentally messed it up. And now I have a shiny new ring I can reflect sun into your eyes with.
