Stella's Graduation Story

Aunt Stephie graduated on Friday, so I got to go to BYU again. I started getting cranky near the end because I couldn't move around much, but I was really good during Aunt Stephie's speech...did I mention she's valedictorian? Her speech was awesome! But I need to remember to ask mommy what "valedictorian" means.

Stella Hearts Water

Stella loves playing in the bathtub just as much as being in the pool. She goes crazy with her arms and splashes water everywhere, especially all over her face but it doesn't even phase her. I wonder if it's confusing that sometimes she gets to play in water in the buff but other times I make her wear clothes.

Riddle Me This

Christian Bale does a great job of playing Batman, but how did someone think to put the guy from Newsies and Little Women as the Dark Knight? That took some serious imagination.

Eight is Great

Stella turned eight months this past Friday, which just happened to be 8-8-08. I thought it was pretty cool, but she was blase about it.

Retail 201

When you want to be hired for a job, an important thing to do is look professional. An example: a guy came in to inquire about a job. He had on a T-shirt that said "I got up for this?". As we talked, I wished I was wearing a shirt that said "I'm with stupid" with the arrow pointing to him.

The Next Harry Potter...I Mean, the Next Twilight

Hate finding a good fantasy series that isn't finished being written? Hate waiting two or more years for the next book? Hate waiting ten years for the entire series to be complete? Then try Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl series. It's one of my favorites and best of all it's complete (so he says). And if you end up not liking the books, the covers alone are cool enough to own.

What to Do When You're Pre-approved

Credit card companies get a bad rap for sending junk mail. To me, it's not junk at all but a caring company trying to hook you up with a great deal. So in the spirit of caring, I like to give back to the credit card companies by sending them something nice in their prepaid envelope, like pizza coupons or flyers for free dental exams. This is my way of saying thanks for thinking of me.
